Who (and how) to follow at Ironman 70.3 Tallinn
Nearly 100 pros are expected to descend on Estonia – some as a tune-up race before the Ironman World Championship races in Nice and Kona, and some to bank points for the Ironman Pro Series. Among the names we’ll be watching:
Reigning 70.3 European Champion Pieter Heemeryck (BEL) will make his Ironman Pro Series debut. This will be his first 70.3 race of the year after spending the first part of the season focusing on the T100 series.
He’ll face off against the likes of Cam Wurf (AUS), Robert Kallin (SWE), and Paul Schuster (DEU), all looking to add points to their Ironman Pro Series standings.
Maja Stage Nielsen (DNK), who has been racking up top-10 finishes in the Ironman Pro Series, currently sits at fourth place in the overall standings. A win in Tallinn could bump her even higher.
But Kat Matthews (GBR), Fenella Langridge (GBR), and Els Visser (NLD) pose strong threats for the win, with all three showing excellent form lately as they head into final preparations for the Ironman World Championship in Nice.
